NEW LIMERICK – Gretchen Watson, 56, went home to be with her Lord and Savior June 28, 2010, after a 20-year courageous battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 23, 1953, in Houlton, daughter of Richard and Marjorie (Kaye) Aucoin. She was a business partner with Wayne in the automotive business and found true fulfillment in caring for people in her nursing career and everyday life. Gretchen enjoyed time with her family and being involved in her church. Her greatest desire was to be a witness for the Lord. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Wayne Watson; two daughters, Josie and Katie; a granddaughter, Makayla; brother, Robert Aucoin and his wife, Rainie; sister, Bonnie McKay; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert and Norma Watson; many nieces and nephews. Gretchen had many special friends, including Jane Zimmerman, Lana McGuire and her co-workers at Visiting Nurses of Aroostook. She was predeceased by her parents; and two brothers, Doug and Sandy Graham. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, at County Road Baptist Church, where a home going celebration will be held 2 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be at New Limerick Cemetery. A time of fellowship will be held immediately after at the church.
