ADDISON – Kenneth Frank Thompson, 41, passed on to his Lord and maker June 25, 2010, ending all his pain, suffering and disease. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Kenny was born March 19, 1969, in Bangor, the son of Earland L. and Sally Driscoll Thompson of Columbia Falls. Kenny will remain in their hearts forever and a day. Starting at age 4, he accompanied his dad on the lobster boat, sprouting salt water in his veins. At age 7, he enjoyed tinkering on engines, especially cars and trucks, and throughout the years he became knowledgeable about all kinds of engines and their parts. In his youth he enjoyed spending time with Nana and Papa Driscoll, and camping with his mom, dad and sister, Katrina. He loved animals and the land and had just received his second Maine moose lottery permit. Kenny was educated in the schools of SAD 37, graduating from Narraguagus High School in 1987. He participated in the first class that graduated from Western Washington County Vocational Technical Institute, Machias. Kenny was a lobsterman by trade. Kenny is survived by the love of his life, Amy A. Stubbs, whom he married Oct. 21,1989; his parents; his daughter, Katie-Anne Thompson and her companion, Terry Haley, of Hartland; a son, Kenneth F. Thompson Jr. of Addison; and his sister, Katrina T. Mazgaj and her husband, Paul, and their children, Ben, Abby and Caroline of Ellsworth. Kenny is also survived by his granddaughter, Trinity Star, 10 months, who is his “precious” one. Survivors also include many friends who called him, Kenny “Crank.” He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Frank H. and Annie Clark Thompson; and his maternal grandparents, Kenneth S. and Minnie Oliver Driscoll. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. July 1 at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, 220 Court St., Machias. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. July 2 at D.W. Merritt School, Route 187, Addison.
