BROOKLIN and DANFORTH – Nye F. Whiting, 65, died June 25, 2010, at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. He was born Aug. 20, 1945, in Danforth. Nye was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed all the great state of Maine had to offer. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his mother, Larene Spinney of Danforth; siblings, Kenneth Whiting and his wife, Bonnie, of Danforth and Helena Lane and her husband, Robert, of Millinocket; a son, Kurt Whiting of Emporium, Pa.; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind many dear friends in Brooklin, where he had resided during the last years of his life. He was predeceased by his stepfather, Gilbert Spinney of Danforth; and a son, Nye G. Whiting of Emporium, Pa. The family expresses special thanks to Bruce Warring. There will be no services per Nye’s request.
