GLENBURN – Ellery B. Treadwell, 81, died Wednesday, July 1, 2010, at home with his family by his side. He was born Oct. 12, 1928, in Brewer, the son of Benjamin and Annie (McKenzie) Treadwell. After his childhood, Ellery enlisted in the U.S. Army and was a member of the 287th Infantry Division. He retired from Bangor Dodge after 32 years of service. Ellery enjoyed gardening, bird watching, NASCAR, trips to Bar Harbor with his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lora (Bunker) Treadwell; son, Anthony Treadwell of Glenburn; daughters, Margaret Quesinberry of Bangor, and Eleanor Malcolm and her husband, Herbert, of Kenduskeag; beloved grandchildren, Jason and Bethany Malcolm of Kenduskeag; brothers, Edwin Young of Wisconsin, Stanley Young and his wife, Joanne, of Hermon, and Robert Treadwell and his wife, Betty, of Veazie; sister, Annie Terrill and her husband, Chester, of Hermon; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Lorraine Welch and her husband, Gene, Derald Cochran, and Richard Wickett. In addition to his parents, Ellery was predeceased by his daughter, Ellen Mae Treadwell; brother, Howard Treadwell; sisters, Blanche Turner and Mary Berry; niece, Terese “Teri Sue” Treadwell; and nephew, John “Hardy” Treadwell. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 3-5 p.m. Sunday, July 4, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, July 5, at Hermon Baptist Church, Route 2, Hermon, with the Rev. Garnett Chute officiating. Interment will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery, Glenburn.
