LEVANT – Beecher R. Rowell Jr., 58, husband of the late Shelley L. (Charters) Rowell, died July 1, 2010, at his home. He was born May 21, 1952, in Bangor, son of Beecher R. and Sylvia M. (Shorey) Rowell Sr. Beecher was a lifelong resident of Levant and was a graduate of Hermon High School. He worked in carpentry in his early years for CW Perry and later for Cianbro Corp. In recent years he worked for Steve Wiggin. Beecher always helped his parents on their farm and with the vegetable stand in Levant. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a former member of Veazie Salmon Club. Surviving, in addition to his parents of Levant, are two children, Lori Devlin and her husband, Josh, of Carmel and Michael Rowell and his wife, Lisa, of Levant; three grandchildren, Aaron Thayer, Patrick Devlin and Tyler Closson; one great-grandchild, Kaleb Closson; two sisters, Florence Reynolds and her husband, Steven, and Barbara Charters; nephews, Brian Reynolds and his wife, Jenn, Todd Reynolds and his wife, Karen, and Chad Charters; a great-nephew, Cody Reynolds; and three great-nieces, Shelby Reynolds, Emily and Erika Savage. He will be remembered by special friends, Debbie and Melissa; and by his beloved dog, Leah. He was predeceased by his wife in 1993; and by a brother, Larry Rowell. A service honoring his life will be held 3 p.m. Monday, July 5, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, where family and friends may visit from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
