SHIRLEY – Shirley M. Turner, 84, died July 7, 2010, at C.A. Dean Hospital, Greenville. She was born July 27, 1925, in Locke Mills, daughter of Charles A. and Doris M. (Goodwin) Perry. She graduated from Yarmouth Academy, Class of 1944. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Shirley, and Shirley Community Church. She was always active in helping with church functions, suppers, etc. She worked for Stover Atlas Plywood and Moosehead Manufacturing, Monson, and various part-time work in Greenville after her retirement. Her family has many fond memories of her going berry picking and working in her flower and vegetable garden. She will be missed by her family, her many friends and her special cat, Mindy. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Lee C. Turner, in the spring of this year. She was also predeceased by a brother, Charles Perry Jr. She is survived by three sons, David, Albert and Daniel, all of Shirley; one daughter, Gail Downie of Sangerville; four grandchildren, Joshua, Sarah, Alissa and Joey; a half sister, Carolyn Briggs of California; several nieces and a cousin. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at Shirley Community Church. Friends may call 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at Shirley Cemetery.
