HAMILTON SQUARE, N.J. – Estelle “Pat” Berman, 89, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010, with her family by her side at home. She was born Aug. 2, 1920, in Bradford. Estelle moved to New Jersey in 1969. She has lived in Ewing, N.J., Hamilton, N.J., and Lawrenceville, N.J., since that time. Estelle has lived with her devoted family: Sue, Don, Dominic, Amanda and Anthony Lipira, for the last two years. Her life was devoted to nursing and she was employed as a registered nurse in Maine, New York and New Jersey. Estelle was on the planning board and zoning board in Ewing Township, N.J., was president and founder of Churchill Green Civic Association and president and treasurer of Club 4, Lawrenceville, N.J. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing Mahjong, canasta, Internet checkers and Scrabble. Estelle was thankful for her many friends that she acquired throughout the years and grateful to her niece, Amanda Sherburne, her church family – Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church, and Bea Johnson and Donna Seidenglanz for their devotion to her during the last 10-plus years. She lived each day with the motto, “If you have God in your heart, you have God in your life.” She was predeceased by her husband, Aaron Berman; her mother, Mattie Perry; her father, Levi Lovejoy; her stepfather, Frank Perry; her sister, Avaline Bickmore; her brothers, Ashley and Wendell Lovejoy; her granddaughter, Wendi Rotkowitz; her sisters-in-law, Jean and Louise Lovejoy and Rita Abrams; and her brother-in-law, Wendell Bickmore. She is survived by three children and their spouses, Barbara and James Moonlight of Sebec, Susan and Donald Lipira of Hamilton, N.J., and Samuel and Cindy Berman of Noblesville, Ind.; her grandchildren, Nancy Rotkowitz, Lori Rand, Renee Kinley and her husband, Jimmy, Jennifer Meserve and her husband, Barry, Thomas Moonlight and his wife, Julie, Dominic, Angela, Amanda and Anthony Lipira, David and his wife, Rachael, Aaron and Katelyn Berman; her great-grandchildren, Paige, Savanah and Sarah Hobbs, Zackary and Sean Kinley, Kaylee and Ian Meserve, Sydney and Addison Moonlight, Jennifer and Michael Berman; 19 nieces and nephews; nine great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom she loved dearly and was in close contact with.
