EAST WINN – Rick, 70, died July 20, 2010, at his home. Born Feb. 15, 1940, in Patten, he was the son of Victor and Laura (Birmingham) Palmer. Rick served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army for 12 years. His overseas duties were served in Germany, Korea, Japan and Vietnam. Rick served as All American Commander in the Veterans of Foreign Wars in 1993-1994. He enjoyed sitting on his front porch with his close friends, including Barry Rhoades; his neighbors; and his dog, Charlie. Rick is survived by his daughter, Tammy and her husband, Gerry; grandchildren, Steven and Lauren Cleary; son, Steve and granddaughter, Lindsay Palmer; brothers, Larry and his wife, Roberta, and Don and his wife, Gayle; sisters, Connie and her husband, Eddie Chippeo, and Jeannie and her husband, Wayne Thurlow; half sister, Debbie and her husband, Tim Peters; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Gary. Friends may call 3-5 p.m. Saturday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Mark York officiating.
