VAN BUREN – Lorraine Lajoie, 78, died July 22, 2010, at a Caribou hospital after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. She has now entered her fifth day. She was born Aug. 31, 1931, in Cyr Plantation, daughter of Patrick and Hattie (Lajoie) Ouellette. Lorraine loved to knit and especially enjoyed camping in the summer months with her partner and best friend, Garner. She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Garner A. Lajoie of Caribou; three daughters, Elaine Levesque and husband, Maynard, of Van Buren, Garnet Disy and husband, Tony, of Caribou, and Sharon Nadeau and husband, Jim, of Presque Isle; two sons, Kevin Lajoie and wife, Karen, and Allan Lajoie and wife, Debbi, all of Caribou; one brother, Russell Ouellette of Van Buren; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Committal service and interment will be at Grande Riviere Cemetery.
