ASHLAND – Reginald Newell Goodblood, 77, passed away July 19, 2010, after a short illness at a Mars Hill health care facility. He was born Oct. 22, 1932, at Portage Lake, the son of Marshall and Emily (Pinette) Goodblood. Reg served for a short time in the U.S. Air Force. He was a lifelong woodsman and enjoyed being in the woods. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Reg was a very quiet and humble man who loved being with his family and friends, and was always there with a helping hand. As the result of being an avid reader, he became quite the history buff. In addition to his love of books, he always had a special fondness for animals, especially his old English sheep dog, Shadow. Reg is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Joan (LaBelle) Goodblood of Ashland; three daughters, Cathy Smith and husband, Ed, of Fort Fairfield, Cindy Quintal and husband, Donnie, of East Hampstead, N.H., and Trudy Lamoreau and husband, Bryan, of Litchfield; one son, Gary M. Goodblood of Fort Fairfield; two brothers, Gerald Goodblood of Shawnee, Kan., and Arthur Goodblood of Fairland, Ind.; three sisters, Shirley Dancer of Wolcott, Conn., Gail Goodblood of Woodland and Judy Huntley of Winterville; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Cleveland Goodblood; and one sister, Marion Michaud. Family and friends may visit 10 a.m. until the time of the celebration of his life 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, at Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland. Committal service and interment will be after at Goodblood Family Cemetery at Portage Lake.
