PITTSFIELD – Ruth P. Wright, 88, died July 27, 2010, at a Pittsfield hospital after a period of ill health. She was born Oct. 30, 1921, in Detroit, Maine, daughter of Harold and Myrtle (Raynes) Morton. She graduated from Newport High School. Ruth married Lawrence E. Wright in 1943 and they shared 65 years together in Pittsfield. Ruth loved her family and community, had many friends, and was always cheerful and ready to help anyone in need. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence, in 2008. She is survived by her son and his wife, Kenton and Eileen Wright of Venice, Fla.; granddaughters, Kathryn Lee and her husband, Christopher, of Boston, and Caroline Mutter and her husband, Paul, of New York City; a great-granddaughter and three great-grandsons; a niece, Sonia Staples and her husband, George; a sister-in-law, Alice Fitts; a brother-in-law, LaForest Wright and his wife, Mary; numerous nieces and nephews.
