NORTHEAST HARBOR – Ronald J. Chase Sr., 90, a lifelong resident of Northeast Harbor, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in Africa until discharged at the rank of corporal in 1945. He returned to Northeast Harbor where he established Ronnie’s Lunch. Ronald worked for the town of Mount Desert as dispatcher for more than 30 years. He also served as a volunteer for the Mount Desert Fire Department and Ambulance Service for more than 35 years. He was a Master Mason of Northeast Harbor Masonic Lodge No. 208 for more than 50 years. Ronald is survived by his daughter, Julie Chase Donohue and her husband, Michael J. Donohue III, of Los Gatos, Calif.; his son, Ronald J. Chase Jr. and his wife, Deborah Chase, of Bangor; his grandchildren, Christian Fitzharris, Meghan Chase, Stephanie Chase, Michael J. Donohue V and Stephen Donohue; and sister, Ruth Mitchell and her husband, Robert. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Phyllis Mae (Gray) Chase, March 5, 2009.
