Parent 65th Anniversary HAMLIN – Gerard and Isabel Parent of Hamlin celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Sunday, June 27, 2010. After a Mass at St. Joseph Church in Hamlin in honor of their 65th anniversary, the family held a celebration at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Rudy and Dinah Parent. Gerard and Isabel were married June 26, 1945, at St Bruno Catholic Church in Van Buren by the Rev. Armand LaTraverse, S.M. In attendance at the celebration were Patricia Thibodeau, the maid of honor, and Irene Charette-Corriveau, a bridesmaid. Gerard and Isabel were feted by their children: Ken of St. Clair Shores, Mich., Gerri Ronco and her husband, Ralph, of Sidney, Roberta Allen of Haverhill, Mass., Rudy and his wife, Dinah, Tim, Bill and his wife, Lisa, and Denise and her husband, Wayne, all of Hamlin. They lost a son, Richard, in 1975. In attendance as well were their nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; Isabel’s sisters, Ernestine Cooley and her son, John Mark, of Jefferson City, Mo., and Mary Malenfant and her husband, Leon, of Westfield and Sun City Center, Fla.; sister-in-law Lorraine McCrossin of Caribou; Gerard’s sister Patricia Thibodeau and her husband, Conday, of Caribou. Gerard and Isabel retired in 1983. They wintered in Sun City Center, Fla., from 1986 to 2002, and now live year-round in Hamlin.
