BREWER and BANGOR – Ronald “Bud” Leroy Pomroy Sr., 75, beloved husband of Elizabeth Jane (Kent) Pomroy, died Aug. 1, 2010, surrounded by his family. He was born Dec. 11, 1934, in Brewer, son of Leroy and Eleanor (Adams) Pomroy. Bud resided in Brewer for the majority of his life. He was a former trustee for Brewer Eagles Club, a member of Ralph J. Pollard Lodge No. 217 AF & AM, Orrington, and was one of the original clowns, “Jingles,” of the clown unit of Anah Shrine. Bud spent several years living in Florida before returning to Maine in 2006. Bud loved to play cribbage and recently got that lucky 29 hand. He loved fishing with his son, playing bingo with his daughter, and spending time with family and friends. Bud is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Jane (Kent) Pomroy; sister, Geraldine (Pomroy) Johnson; son, Ronald L. Pomroy Jr. and his wife, Gerry, and grandson, Ronald E.L.O. Pomroy, and granddaughter, Natasha E. Pomroy of Holden; daughter, Pollyanna (Pomroy) Smith and her husband, Roger A. Smith Sr., and grandson, Roger A. Smith Jr. and his fiancee, Anastasia, and granddaughter, Nicole E. Smith and special great-grandson, Roger A. Smith III, of Clifton; many special nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, with the Rev. Robert T. Carlson officiating. Interment will be afterward at Oak Grove Cemetery, Bangor. After the services relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments at the Ball Room of the Bangor House, 174 Main St., Bangor.
