BUCKSPORT – Amy Louise Doucette Willey, 39, suffered a fatal head injury Saturday, July 31, 2010, while swimming in Frankfort. Amy was born Oct. 25, 1970, in Omaha, Neb. She grew up in Addison with her parents, Robert and Betty Doucette; two older brothers, Alan and Michael; and younger sister, Cecilia. Amy attended D.W. Merritt Elementary, Addison. After graduating from Narraguagus High School, Harrington, in 1989, Amy attended the University of Southern Maine. In 1991, Amy married Frank Willey, originally of Cherryfield. They divorced after 16 years. Amy was employed by Doug Gross and family, owners of GHA, Inc. Amy is survived by her mother, Betty Doucette of Addison; brothers, Alan Doucette of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Michael Doucette of Conway, N.H.; sister, Cecilia Doucette Robbins and husband, Nicholas, of Addison; cousin, Ski Winter and wife, Suzie; nieces, Michelle Doucette, Becky Brown Mesiti, Meagan Doucette and Payton Robbins; nephews, Bryan Doucette and wife, Penny, Scott Doucette and Ian Robbins; great-nieces, Gillian Wotton and Hannah Doucette; great-nephew, Matthew Wotton; childhood friends, Carol Ann Lisee, Shelly Norton and Erika Cleaves Schoppee; and her beloved cats. Amy’s father, Robert Doucette, passed away in February 1997. Amy, your can-do, spit-fire attitude and sparkling blue eyes will always be missed. Love you forever.
