COVENTRY, Conn. – Carlton M. “Skip” Scofield, 63, beloved husband of Doreen (Cofelice) Scofield, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, with his family by his side. He was born Sept. 14, 1946, in Old Town, son of the late Carlton and Lorena (King) Scofield. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was especially proud to have been a “doorgunner” which originated during this war era. He worked as a private contractor for many years in the Coventry, Conn., area. He loved his animals, especially his dog and working partner, Casey. He had many hobbies including, hunting, fishing and boating, and was a master craftsman. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother, Larry Scofield and his wife, Elnora, of Maine; his sister, Jeannie Connors and her husband, Edward, of Maine; his sister-in-law, Marlene and her husband, Ralph Perry, of Massachusetts; his sister-in-law, Janeen Calvao and her husband, Steve, of Massachusetts; and his sister-in-law, Colleen Lound and her husband, Dennis, of California. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, at Coventry-Pietras Funeral Home, 2665 Boston Turnpike, Route 44, Coventry, Conn. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9, at St. Bartholomew’s Church, 45 Ludlow Road, Manchester, Conn. Burial will be private.
