MONTICELLO – Betty Hanning Lynch, 85, passed away Aug. 5, 2010, at her residence. She was born Sept. 4, 1924, in Monticello, daughter of Harry and Hilda (Bulley) Hanning. Betty graduated from Monticello Grammar School and Presque Isle High School. She worked at Northeast Publishing Co. for 11 years, Department of Human Services for three years and Aroostook County Action Program for 13 years. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother. Betty is survived by three children, Nicholas Lynch and his wife, Evelyn, of West Gordan, Utah, Michael Lynch and his wife, Brenda, of Limestone and Kevin Lynch and his wife, Merita, of Lynn, Mass.; seven grandchildren, Shannon, Shawn, Kimberly, John, Jerod, April and Debbie; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John; granddaughter, Kimberly, daughter of Michael and Brenda; and sisters, Estemma Vose and Daphine Shorey. In keeping with Betty’s request, there will be no visiting hours. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Church, Mars Hill, with Deacon Al Burleigh officiating.
