PRESQUE ISLE – Vera F. McPherson, 80, wife of the late Robert D. McPherson, died Aug. 6, 2010, at a local hospital. She was born Oct. 1, 1929, in Monticello, daughter of William and Catherine (Morrison) Bishop. She was a member of Grant Memorial United Methodist Church, Presque Isle. Vera and her husband, Bob, owned and operated Country Club Farms for many years. She was a member of Lunar Chapter No. 126 Order of the Eastern Star and Presque Isle Country Club. Vera enjoyed spending time at her camp on Portage Lake, attending Shrine functions with her husband, traveling, gardening, golfing, knitting, dancing and spending time with her family. Vera especially enjoyed playing bridge with her “bridge ladies.” She is survived by a son and his wife, Ronald E. and Christine McPherson of Presque Isle; daughters and their husbands, Daphine and Steven Michaud of Presque Isle and Donna and Gregory Loutsios of Chatsworth, Calif.; grandchildren, Missy, Anna, Caitlin, Alicia, Mindy and Robbie; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Brittany, Raeanna and Karleigh; a brother, Irvine “Cut” Foster of Florida; a sister, Nancy Foster of Portland; special friends, Thaxter and Betty Ryder of Presque Isle; several nieces and nephews. Vera was predeceased by a grandson, Jack Loutsios. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, at Grant Memorial United Methodist Church, 79 Fleetwood St., Presque Isle, with Pastor Ron Chaffee officiating. Relatives and friends may call 2 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery. Those who wish may make donations in her memory to Shriners Hospital, P.O.
