HOULTON – Ernest E. Saunders, 82, died Aug. 12, 2010, at a local health care facility. He was born May 2, 1928, in Oakfield, the son of John and Josephine (Brannen) Saunders. Ernest serviced with the U.S. military and was employed for many years with Bangor & Aroostook Railroad. He is survived by his wife, Annie (McAdam) Saunders of Houlton; two sons, Rodney and his wife, Patty, of Houlton and Wayne and his wife, Tammy, of Linneus; two stepchildren, Alta Reardon and her husband, Shirley, of Houlton and Marvin Bragdon and his wife, Linda, of Salem, Ore.; one granddaughter, Tiffany Saunders; stepgrandchildren, Chris, Lee, Sean and Kent Reardon, Jimmy and Tammy Bragdon, and Renee Devoe; seven great-stepgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and one sister, Eldora Foster. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park St., Houlton, where services will be held 1 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Randall Burns officiating. Interment with military honors will be held at Houlton Evergreen Cemetery.
