LINNEUS – Mona E. Swimm, 89, died Aug. 15, 2010, at a local health care facility. She was born June 30, 1921, in Linneus, the daughter of James and Edna (Henderson) Ruth. Mona was a member of Linneus Free Will Baptist Church and Veteran of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by one son, James Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Topsham; two daughters, Jill and her husband, Galen Quint, of Hodgdon and Beverly and her husband, Alan Nickerson, of Plainfield, Conn.; one brother, Lewis Ruth of Massachusetts; a sister, Dorothy Stackhouse and her husband, Carlton, of New Limerick; daughter-in-law, Nancy Swimm; 10 grandchildren, Jan, Tracey, Mike, Alanna, Nina, Pete, Jim III, Ryan, Christopher and Crystal; nine great-grandchildren; a special friend, Evelyn Nason; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, James Sr.; son, Robert; brother, Howard; and sister, Marjorie Irish. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Dunn Funeral Home, where friends may call noon until the time of service with the Rev. Marilyn Rohdin and Pastor Gerald Bullock officiating. Interment will be at Linneus Cemetery.
