TREMONT – Charlotte T. Sawyer, 90, died Aug. 16, 2010, at a Mount Desert Island health care facility. She was born Oct. 16, 1919, in Hancock, the daughter of Elmo J. and Bessie (Carr) Turner. Charlotte was a past member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Pythian Sisters, Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of Head of the Harbor Church, Tremont, where she had served in the past as secretary, treasurer and taught Sunday school. She is survived by her two sons, Harvey E. “Bud” Sawyer of Tremont and Randal S. Sawyer and wife, Barbara, of Frenchboro; five grandchildren, Corey Cecil of Bangor, Morgan Fairchild of Aurora, David and Michelle of Thomaston and Christopher Harvey and wife, Emmie, of Frenchboro; five great-grandchildren, Katrina of New York, Gretchen of Aurora, Isaiah, Marilyn and Peyton Charlotte of Frenchboro. Charlotte was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Harvey M. Sawyer, Sept. 17, 2008; four brothers, Clifton, Elmo, Leslie and Stetson; and a sister, Clara Fennelly.
