PRESQUE ISLE – Irene Wilson, 97, of Portsmouth, R.I., and formerly of Presque Isle and Portage, died Aug. 17, 2010. She was born May 17, 1913, in Drummond, New Brunswick, daughter of John and Anna (Page) Deschene. Irene was the wife of the late Finley McIntosh and Milton Wilson. Irene was a loving caregiver to her family members and friends. She was an exceptional homemaker and baker, and was well known for her breads and pies. Irene enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. Irene was predeceased by her parents, John and Anna; both husbands; a daughter, Dawn Michaud; a grandson, Barry, two brothers and a sister. Irene is survived by granddaughters, Beth and her husband, James Appleton, of Portsmouth, R.I., and Laurie and her husband, Michael DiPalma, of Pittsfield, N.H.; a brother, Roland Deschene and his wife, Esther, of Hampden; 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. An hour of visitation will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Union Cemetery, Fort Fairfield.
