EAST MILLINOCKET – Marie Elizabeth “Betty” Rush, 81, wife of the late Nathan L. Rush, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2010, at a Millinocket hospital. She was born March 11, 1929, in East Millinocket, daughter of George L. and Marie Elizabeth Michaud. Betty was active with Daughters of Isabella, St. Anne’s Circle, East Millinocket. She loved her family, and was the consummate mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by four children, Jim Rush and his wife, Sheila, of Millinocket, Karen Rush of Brewer, David Rush and his wife, AnnMarie, of Hampden, and Patti Smith and her husband, Steve, of East Millinocket; nine grandchildren, Brent Cole, Julie Cole, Julie Madore, Mark Madore, Bonnie Madore, Brianne Smith, Scott Smith, Michelle Rush and Aaron Rush; a great-grandson, Aidan Madore; a brother, Leroy Michaud and his wife, June, of East Millinocket; a brother-in-law, James E. Rush and his wife, Jeanette; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Betty was predeceased by her parents; a son, Brian Rush; and a sister, Theresa Northrop. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where a rosary service will be held 7 p.m. conducted by the officers and members of the Daughters of Isabella, St. Anne’s Circle. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, at St. Peter’s Church of Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, 58 Cedar St., East Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider. Interment will be at East Millinocket Cemetery. Gifts in memory of Betty may be sent to Katahdin Area Support Group, 10 Field St., Millinocket, ME 04462.
