If you could make three big changes to Maine public schools, what would they be?
Should classes be extended year-round? Should merit pay be instituted among teachers? Should passing a standardized test be required before a diploma is issued?
Should students be diverted into different streams by 10th grade – college-bound, vocational-training-bound, job-market-bound? Should schools focus more on basic knowledge and skills rather than critical thinking? Should teachers be required to have more training and be paid more?
