ENFIELD – Gerald W. “Jay” Bean, 43, passed away Aug. 30, 2010, at his home after a 61/2-year battle with metastatic cancer. He was born Feb. 12, 1967, in Lincoln. Jay graduated in 1987 from Penobscot Valley High School. He worked in the woods most of his life and had his own business until he was diagnosed with cancer. He was known to many truckers as “beanoh.” He had worked at the Lincoln mill for a short time. He loved riding motorcycles and snowsledding. He is survived by his wife, Heather Bean, and they would’ve celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary Sept. 1, 2010. He is also survived by two beautiful daughters, Chelsea and Kylie; brother, Larry Moon and his wife, Abby, of Lincoln; nephews, Hollis and his wife, Carol Moon, and sons, Adam and Matthew, of Enfield, and William and Heather Moon, and children, Brittany, Morgan, Brianna and Caleb of Enfield; a niece, Wendy and Mark Crocker, and sons, Brendan and Brett, of Lincoln; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Shelley Shedd of Enfield; sisters-in-law, Holly and Eric Samson of Auburn, and Heidi and Chip Priest of Lincoln; nieces, Lyla Priest and Madison Samson; and nephew, Camren Samson. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary (Moon) Bean; and a brother, Barry Bean. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Friday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Scott Taylor officiating. Interment will be at West Enfield Cemetery. Those who wish may donate to a fund for the benefit of his children. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
