EDDINGTON, ORWELL, Vt., and SHOREHAM, Vt. – Angelina H. Stowe, 100, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully Aug. 31, 2010, at a local health care facility. She was born July 14, 1910, in Ubstadt, Germany. She enjoyed spending time at her camp on Lake Champlain, Orwell, Vt., visiting and playing her favorite card games with her special camp neighbors, the Penney’s and the Dunn’s. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward F. Stowe, in 1964. Surviving are two daughters, Janet Hutchins and her husband, Carl, of Proctor, Vt., and Pauline Matot and her husband, Lyndell “Jake” Matot, of Eddington; six grandchildren, Michael, Daniel, Eric and his wife, Rhonda Hutchins, all of New York, Stephen and his wife, Karyn, of Brandon, Fla., very special granddaughter, Laurie and her husband, Steve Michaud, of Orrington and Glenn and his wife, Gail Matot, of Lincoln, Mass.; a very special granddaughter-in-law, Lynda Hutchins of Orwell, Vt.; eight great-grandchildren, Bobbie and Sean Hutchins of Orwell, Vt., Krystal Hardesty and her husband, Seth, of Brandon, Fla., Justin MacDonald of Baltimore, Jacob O’Donnell of Orrington, Lauren and Glenn Anthony of Lincoln, Mass., and Cody Hutchins of Addison, Vt.; one great-great-grandson, Jacob Hardesty; two sisters, Marie Jerabec and Hedwig Kramer of Ubstadt, Germany; one cousin, Marie Schmidt of Beverly Hills, Fla.; many nieces and nephews in the U.S. and Germany. Her family thanks Dr. Toby Atkins and Robin, Community Health and Counseling Service Hospice and all of the wonderful, caring and compassionate staff and residents at Bangor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Relatives and friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, with the Rev. Dr. Tracy Reeves, pastor of North Brewer-Eddington United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Shoreham, Vt., at a later date. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments after the service at the Reception Rooms of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main St., Brewer.
