THOMASTON – George H. Ames, 87, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, surrounded by his family at his home. A Eucharistic celebration will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at St. John Baptist Episcopal Church, 200 Main St., Thomaston, with the Rev. Peter Jenks officiating. A burial service will be held 3 p.m. Friday at Gordon Cemetery, Sullivan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Friends of Montpelier, P.O. Box 326, Thomaston, ME 04861.
