SMYRNA – Ronald E. Brownlow, 85, died Sept. 7, 2010, at a local health care facility. He was born Jan. 18, 1925, in Smyrna, the son of Arthur and Jessie (Sewall) Brownlow. Ronald grew up in Smyrna. He spent most of his time working in the woods, loving the land and his horses. You could always take in a great story from Ronald, and he made the best maple syrup in town, and enjoyed time with family and friends and a full plate. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Priscilla (Springer) Brownlow of Houlton; stepsons, Fred Anderson and his wife, Jackie, of Island Falls and Sandy Anderson and his wife, Irene, of Smyrna; four grandchildren, Mathew Anderson and his wife, Lisa, of Island Falls, Rachel Anderson of Houlton, Alex Anderson and his wife, Connie, of Caribou and Eric Anderson and his fianc?e, Deanna Daigle, of Orono; four great-grandchildren, Ryan and Jacob Anderson of Island Falls, Blake and Gwen Anderson of Caribou; sister, Lydia Bragan of Oakfield; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Stanley Brownlow; and his sister, Alice Collier. Ronald’s family gives thanks for all the caring and comforting hands at Graymour Boarding Home and Gardner Health Care Facility. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Dunn Funeral Home, where services will be held 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Jonathan Stevens officiating. Interment will be at Lower Smyrna Cemetery.
