PRESQUE ISLE and FORT KENT – Nick Tanguay, 66, died peacefully Sept. 9, 2010, surrounded by his family, at a Presque Isle health care facility. He was born Nov. 29, 1943, in St. Gedeon Beauce, Quebec, the son of Cyrille and Marie-Laure (Mercier) Tanguay. Nick, along with his son, owned and operated a logging business, Tanglewood Enterprises Inc., Fort Kent. He was an active member of Fourth Degree Knights Council No. 0352, Fort Kent, which he was very fond of. He loved the outdoors, fishing with his family, snowmobiling and ATVing. He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Mary Ann (Tardif) Tanguay; his son, Mike and his wife, Sherri; three granddaughters, Jordan, Dolcie and Rowan, all of Fort Kent; five sisters, Gaetane, Hegeatte, Gemma, Roselle and Francine; three brothers, Gatane, Gean and Bertrand; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters, Geannie, Gilberte and Dorothae. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday and 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial with full fourth degree honors will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Committal services will be after at the parish cemetery.
