FARMINGTON – Hattie Laliberte scored two goals in leading the University of Maine-Farmington past the University of Southern Maine of Gorham 2-1 in field hockey action Wednesday..

Jessica Martin assisted the winning goal, 5:13 into the second half for the 2-0 Beavers. Sarah Brown saved five of nine shots.

Ariel Kaplan put the 2-4 Huskies up 1-0 at 20:32 in the first half. Whitney McDaniel had the assist. Kayla Kennedy turned away two of 11 shots.

Colby 4, Husson 1

At Waterville, Courtney Erskine scored twice in lifting Colby College over Husson University of Bangor.

Heather Quadir had a goal and an assist for the 1-1 Mules. Charlotte Deavers also scored while Meryl Poulin provided an assist. Liz Fontaine recorded four saves off 11 shots.

Helen Berry scored an unassisted goal in the second half for the 1-2 Eagles. Kristen Capen turned away 10 of 30 shots.

Bowdoin 2, Husson 1

At Brunswick, Becky Stoneham and Casey Blossom scored second-half goals in leading Bowdoin College past Husson University of Bangor.

Blossom’s winning goal came with 4:55 remaining in regulation for 1-1 Bowdoin. Celeste Swain had the assist. Kat Flaherty saved four of seven shots.

Michelle Manning scored off an Alexandra Laniewski assist early in the second half. Roslyn Petersen saved 14 of 18 shots.

Men’s soccer

Colby 1, Maine Maritime 0

At Waterville, Peter Randall scored with an assist from Nick Aubin with 6:38 left in the first half to power Colby College past Maine Maritime Academy of Castine.

John Gardner stopped two of four shots for Colby.

Randy Bartlett recorded nine saves off 26 shots for the Mariners.

St. Joseph’s 4, Southern Maine 1

At Gorham, Saint Joseph’s College of Standish used four second-half goals to defeat the University of Southern Maine.

Eamonn Harrigan, Greg Jentgen, Matt Barlion and Paul Robins recorded goals for the 4-2 Monks. Dan McIntyre assisted Barlion’s goal. Nick Campasano saved two of five shots.

The 0-5 Huskies got on the board after a Monks player knocked the ball into his own goal. David Kreps had seven saves on 14 shots.

Thomas 2, Clark 0

At Worcester, Mass., freshman Casey Castle scored both goals in the final three minutes of regulation to lead Thomas College of Waterville to victory over Clark University.

Chimdike Okorie had an assist for 2-2-2 Thomas. Mikkail Crockwell made five saves.

Ryan King stopped two shots for 3-3 Clark.
