MADAWASKA – Reynold J. Labbee, 79, passed away Sept. 20, 2010, at a Madawaska health care facility. He was born Jan. 12, 1931, in Fort Kent, son of the late Ernest and Cecelia (Gagnon) Labbee. Reynold worked for Pratt & Whitney in the East Hartford, Conn., plant for 29 years until his retirement in 1987. He enjoyed fishing and camping, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family at his camp in Wallagrass. Reynold is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Gilberte (Nedeu) Labbee of Madawaska; two daughters, Claudette Alaimo and her husband, Thomas, of Enfield, Conn., and Marianne “Mimi” White and her husband, Timothy, also of Enfield, Conn.; two sons, Paul Labbee and his companion, Debra Keller, of Louisiana and Patrick Nelson of Lewiston; three grandchildren, Lisa, Lauren and Jessica; one great-grandson, Brayden; his sister, Esther Labbee of Stafford Springs, Conn.; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Augustine Daigle and Burdick Williams; and by two brothers, Carol and Danford Labbee. The family thanks Hospice of Aroostook for the wonderful care and assistance they provided. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Madawaska. Family and friends may call 9 a.m. until the time of service Friday at Lajoie Funeral Home. Interment will be held immediately after the service at St. John Vianney Cemetery, Wallagrass.
