WYTOPITLOCK – Dorothy M. Hanington, 94, wife of the late Jasper Hanington, passed away Sept. 22, 2010, at a Houlton hospital. She was born Dec. 20, 1915, in Springfield, daughter of Edgar and Annie (Milroy) Cook. Dorothy enjoyed doing cross-stitch, puzzle books and loved to dance. She is survived by four sons, LeRoy “Skeezix” Davis and Linda of Danforth, Larry Hanington and Ellen of Wytopitlock, Raymond Hanington and Janis of Bradley, and Kevin Hanington and Colette of Weston; a sister, Helen Munson of Springfield; seven grandchildren, including a special granddaughter, Tammy Cowan and Larry of Wytopitlock, with whom Dorothy made her home; 19 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and her special dog, Abbie. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a great-grandson, Jason Davis. Her family gives special thanks to the many caregivers who helped take care of her. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Clay Funeral Home – Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Road, Danforth, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Duane Waite officiating.
