MONTICELLO – Marion G. Good, R.N., 85, went home Sept. 21, 2010, at a local hospital. She was born May 13, 1925, in Mars Hill, the daughter of William and Hazel (Pryor) Gilland. Marion attended Houlton schools and was a member of the 1942 Championship Houlton High School girls basketball team. She graduated as a registered nurse from Aroostook General Hospital in 1945. Marion always exemplified the character of a true compassionate skilled nurse. After working as a private duty nurse, Marion and Frannie Grant started Visiting Nurses Service in the Houlton area in 1970. She was a member of Monticello Community Wesleyan Church. Her favorite pastimes were golfing and playing bridge with the girls. Marion was blessed with a loving family and her greatest love was spending time with them. Throughout her Lewy body dementia, Marion ever the professional, continued to “manage the case.” Marion is survived by her husband of 62 years, Arnold Good; her daughter, Heidi Watson and her husband, Oral, all of Monticello; two grandchildren, James Watson and his wife, Erin, of Littleton, and Kathryn Watson of Houlton; great-grandson, Jacob Watson of Littleton; several nieces and nephews; her faithful chum, Norma Folsom; and friends, Betty Anderson, Diddie McCluskey and Gloria Jewell. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Dunn Funeral Home with Pastor John Hoskin and Pastor Jason Rooney officiating. Friends may call 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Monticello Jewell Cemetery.
