Republicans are charging that Rep. Chellie Pingree is a hypocrite for flying on a corporate jet when she returns to Maine because she has criticized others in Congress for doing so.
Is this a baseless political potshot? Her supporters say Pingree criticized elected officials who flew on lobbyist’s jets, while she flew on her romantic partner’s jet. Critics also say she has negated her environmental stands by flying on a small jet because of the amount of fuel it burns.
Is there substance to these charges? Or is does this cross the line into her personal life?
