COLUMBIA – Prescott Farren Jr., 74, passed away Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at his home. He was born May 21, 1936, in Columbia, to Prescott Farren Sr. and Natalene Willey. Prescott worked as a construction supervisor for Seaward Construction for 15 years, but was also known by his family and members of the community as a jack-of-all-trades. He spent many hours watching and feeding the deer, playing volleyball, family cookouts at Pleasant River Camp, riding his blueberry barrens and watching the NASCAR race in his garage on Sundays. Prescott was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Addison and Anah Temple Shrine, Bangor. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Kennedy; two sons, Michael and wife, Cathy, and Bruce and fiancee, Angela; three daughters, Laurie and husband, David, Janet, and Angel and husband, Robert; 10 grandchildren, Jamie, Jerrid, Joshua, David Jr., Darren, Tyler, Tayler, Travis, Hannah and Paige; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Phillip and Shalbaa; three sisters, Elaine and husband, Clearance Beal, Barbara and husband, Everett Matthews, and Sandra Chipman; special friends, Gary Strout, Gus Cirone, Bob and Joan Hasty; many nieces, nephews and friends; and his special cat, Maya. Prescott was predeceased by his parents, Prescott and Natalene Farren; and a sister, Roslie Farren. Visiting hours will be held noon-2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Milbridge, with a service of remembrance immediately after. Graveside service will be at Mailey Hill Cemetery, Columbia. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Prescott’s name to Ark Animal Shelter.
