FAIRFIELD – Kenneth Augustus Heath, 69, of Main Street, died peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born May 31, 1941, in Bangor, the son of Clinton and Adelaide Heath. On March 17, 1968, he married his wife of 42 years, Patricia Anne Cain of Levant. He spent more than 50 years driving for numerous trucking companies hauling everything from elephants to sleds, and drove more than 3 1/2 million miles without a reportable accident. He is survived by his wife, Pat Heath of Windsor; his sons and daughters, Sharon and Steve Cameron of Texas, Kathy Murphy and her partner, Les Starbird, of Clinton, Eugene and Nadine Murphy of Windsor and Denise and Daniel Goodheart of Vassalboro; his sisters, Barbara and Michael Mosher of Arizona, Inez and Jim Jewell of Holden, Elena and Rob Phillips of Bangor and Helen and Maynard Parker of Florida; and his half sister, Dorothy (Mayhew) Anterpara of Michigan. He was known as Bumpa to his grandchildren, Steve Cameron Jr., Lawrence Carter Jr., Tricia Ranks, Deanna Gibson, Rodney Davis and Michael Murphy; and has numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his son, Mark Murphy; his brother, Joseph Heath; his sister, Christina Heath; and two half brothers, Lester Mayhew and Maurice Mayhew. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Hertler and his staff, Maine General Medical Center, and the oncology unit of Alfond Center for Cancer Care. The many workers involved with the treatment and care for cancer patients like Kenny have demonstrated an obvious dedication to their work and compassion for those touched by cancer that we sincerely appreciate. Honoring his request, there will be no visitation hours. After cremation, a family committal service will be held at Resthaven Cemetery, Route 32, Windsor.
