JONESPORT – Frances Mabel Pratt, 85, passed away Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, with her family by her side after a brief illness. She was born March 17, 1925, to Julia and Alonzo Alley of Beals. Frances is survived by her son, Ben Pratt and wife, Lorraine, of Millidgeville, Ga.; and her daughter, Laura Alley and husband, John, of Jonesport. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Renee Woodward and her husband, Clark, and daughter, Autumn, Todd Alley and his wife, Sandy, and children, Travis and Bayleigh, Amy Emerson and her husband, Shane, and son, Evan, and Tricia Alley and her friend, Jim Neal. Frances also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Vannie Alley; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Maurice Alley and wife, Diane. Frances will be remembered with love by special friends, Walter and Shirley Henderson, Lucille and Merton Garnett, Aloma, Lorna, Martha and Alverna. Frances was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Malcolm Pratt, in 2002; her son, Gary, in 1990; siblings, Alston and Reginald; and her parents. Throughout her life, Frances worked for Gray’s Shellfish, Underwood’s Factory, Rest Haven Nursing Home as a cook for 20 years, and Andy’s Seafood. Frances was a lifetime member of RLDS Church and women’s department in Jonesport. She was also a member of Eastern Star, Rumery Chapter, where she was installed as worthy matron in 1978. She enjoyed many activities throughout her life such as cooking, knitting and crocheting special gifts for her family. Frances resided at Narraguagus Bay Health Care Facility, Milbridge, for the past eight years. Visiting hours with the family will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Community Church of Christ, Jonesport, where a funeral will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday with George Woodward officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Jonesport. A gathering for family and friends will be after at Community Church of Christ. A service of Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home.
