AMHERST, N.H. – Kenneth P. Madore, 67, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at Community Hospice House, Merrimack, N.H., after a long illness. He was born Dec. 28, 1942, in Van Buren, son of the late Leo and Ruby (Cormier) Madore. Mr. Madore was raised in Van Buren and was a graduate of Van Buren Boys High School. He went on to graduate from Fisher Community College. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1961 to 1964. Before retirement he was a fleet manager for National Grid, Lowell, Mass., and was formerly employed as a facilities and project manager for Digital Equipment Corp. Mr. Madore was an active member of St. John Neumann Church, South Merrimack, N.H. He was a Eucharistic minister and was a part of the building committee of the first phase of the church. His hobbies that he loved included refinishing antiques, woodworking, loved chocolate, traveling and sightseeing. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. Members of his family include his wife of 45 years, Marlene (Martin) Madore of Amherst, N.H.; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark Madore and Susan Burnham of Windam; a daughter, Tracie Madore of Amherst, N.H.; three grandchildren, Lauren Kaltsas of Amherst, N.H., Ross and Jordan Torelli of Windham; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Carroll and Dorothy Madore of Limerick, Michael Madore of Waldoboro, and Gene and Linda Madore of Van Buren; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Leola and Richard Lilly of Portland, Carol Ann and James Tardiff of Penobscot, Charlene Dennison of Windham, and Gale Madore and her friend of Liberty; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are 5-8 p.m. Friday at St. John Neumann Church, 708 Milford Road, Route 101A, Merrimack, N.H., where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 12:30 p.m. Saturday. After cremation, a committal service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, N.H.
