Mavis adored her 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving and caring brother-in-law, Paul Phelan of Calais and Westbrook; sisters-in-law, Lois Phelan Downing of Houlton, Jean Phelan Cavanagh and husband, Bob, of New Hampshire, and Viola Lane of Connecticut; dear friends, Wayne and Maxine Hale of Caribou; as well as many other family and friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Aaron Damboise officiating. Interment will be at New Holy Rosary Cemetery.
