FORT FAIRFIELD – Mrs. Celia S. (Deabay) Morse, 91, wife of the late Paul B. Morse, passed away Wednesday morning, Oct. 6, 2010, at a Caribou nursing facility after an extended illness. She was born Feb. 21, 1919, in Carlingford, New Brunswick, daughter of Archie and Emellie (Clavette) Deabay. Celia attended Carlingford, New Brunswick, schools and was married to Paul B. Morse. She was a communicant of Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield, which was a very important part of her life. Celia was a hard worker and enjoyed knitting mittens. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Paul, July 5, 1954; one brother, Omar Deabay; one sister, Freida Ouellette; and three sons-in-law, Ralph Davenport, Bradford Henderson and Charles Walker. Mrs. Morse is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Earnest “Sonny” and Allenette Morse; three daughters, Opal Henderson, Claudette Walker, all of Fort Fairfield, and Phoebe Davenport of Blaine; one brother and sister-in-law, David and May Deabay; one sister and brother-in-law, Isabell and Junior Howard, all of Virginia; 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where a vigil service will be conducted 7:30 p.m. by the Rev. Raymond Morency. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, 147 Main St., Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. Raymond Morency, celebrant. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held at Veterans of Foreign Wars Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield, immediately after the interment service.
