NEWPORT – Pamela Cooke, 56, died unexpectedly Oct. 4, 2010, at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born Oct. 20, 1953, in Boston, a daughter of Bernard and Madeline (Carroll) Thomas. She was employed as a court recorder at superior court and attended Gateway Pentecostal Church, Newport. She is survived by a son, Cory Nania; and two daughters, Christine and Catherine Cooke, all of Newport; two brothers, Dana Patterson of Braintree, Mass., and Gary Patterson of Boston; two sisters, Brenda Thomas of Jacks Beach, Fla., and Diane Agabides of Honolulu; and two grandsons, Travis and Brody. Pamela was predeceased by a brother, Joseph, a Marine killed in action in Vietnam; and a sister, Beverly Pierce. A memorial service will be announced in the near future.
