FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Rev. Kenneth L. Foss, 96, went to be with his Lord Oct. 5, 2010. He was born July 10, 1914, in Lubec. He was predeceased by his dear wife, Virginia B. Foss; his parents, Fred and Gertrude Foss of Lubec; his sister, Adelia Tinker of Lubec; his daughter-in-law, Andra K. Foss; and grandson, Kenneth C. Foss of Fredericksburg, Va. He will be sadly missed by his son, Gary Foss of Fredericksburg, Va.; his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Paul Parkes of Oshawa, Ontario; grandchildren, Eric and Carrie Foss of Costa Mesa, Calif., Tim and Karen MacDonald, and Kathy and Tom German of Ajax, Ontario; and great-grandchildren, Taylor and Ethan of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Joshua, Cassandra, Alex, Christina and Kalista of Ajax, Ontario. He was a graduate of Lubec High School, Lubec, and Providence Bible Institute, Providence, R.I. He received an honorary Doctor of Divinity from Fredericksburg Bible Institute and Seminary. He was a faithful minister of God’s word in the following churches for a period of 50 years: Boothbay Baptist Church, Boothbay; Clinton Baptist Church, Clinton; Peoples Church, Somersville, New Brunswick, where he taught at New Brunswick Bible Institute during this time; Hermon Baptist Church, Hermon; Glen Cove Bible Institute, Rockland; Mechanics Falls Baptist Church, Mechanics Falls; and New Life in Christ Church, Fredericksburg, Va., as visitation pastor. He and his dear wife had been faithful members of Temple Baptist Church, Fredericksburg, Va., during their last years. Kenneth has been a real faithful student of God’s word and a man of daily prayer until he was called home. If Ken knew you as a friend you had been faithfully prayed for at least twice a day, right up to his last days. He was ready for this day and was prepared to meet his Savior. A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at Temple Baptist Church. Entombment will be after at Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, Va.
