OLD TOWN – Leota Harmon Moors Mclean, 95, died peacefully Oct. 7, 2010. She was born Dec. 6, 1914, in Mars Hill, the first child of Ray and Gladys (Lunn) Harmon. She spent her early years in the “county,” then went to Bangor and graduated from Eastern Maine General Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as registered nurse for several years and then joined her first husband, Forest K. Moors Sr., in his insurance business in Old Town. Leota was involved with the community, belonging to Eastern Star, Neighborhood Club of Old Town and Old Town United Methodist Church. She was also involved with Brownie and Girls Scout programs and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Leota is survived by her son, Ken Moors and his wife, Laureen, who lovingly cared for her for eight years in their home; her daughter, Suzanne Rares and her husband, Joe, of Wellington, Fla.; her grandsons, Benjamin Moors and his wife, Sylvia, Chad Moors, and Eric Rares; a stepdaughter, Joan Hale; four stepgrandchildren and their spouses, 12 great-stepgrandchildren; brother-in-law, Nate Currier; sister-in-law, Connie Harmon; and brother-in-law, Clifton Moors. She was predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Forest, who she spent 38 wonderful years with; her second husband, James Mclean, who she spent 20 wonderful years with; her sisters, Lucille Vineer and Rebecca Currier; and her brothers, Calvin Harmon, Raymond Harmon and Phillip Harmon. The family gives their special thanks to Leota’s special friend, Alfreda Savoy. A funeral service and interment will be private.
