BASS HARBOR – Charles Joseph Bulger passed away Oct. 6, 2010, at home after an extended battle with long term health issues. He was born March 11, 1964, in Bar Harbor, to Nancy (Dunbar) and Richard Bulger. He has left a hole in many hearts, but also has left us with so many happy memories. One of his favorite pastimes was cooking for others. He could always be found behind the grill at picnics, catering to everyone’s special likes and needs. Another passion of Charlie’s was being a mentor to young fisherman in the community. He taught them many important lessons and was always there for them when they needed a helping hand. Charlie is survived by his best friend and love of 16 years, Lori Closson Goodwin; and the most important person in his life, Jason Ward. He is also survived by his brother, David Bulger and partner, Michael Robbins, of Ocoee, Fla.; as well as his aunt, Juanita (Dunbar) Anderson of New York. Charlie was loved and respected by many, not only in his personal life, but in his business dealings. He owned and operated Manset Boat House with his right hand man, Mike Wagner; and helper, Chris Fernandez. Charlie had too many friends to list, but those of you who were lucky enough to be his truest friends know who you are and that Charlie loved and cherished each of you. He was predeceased by his parents. Friends are invited to call 5:30-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, at Jordan-Fernald, Mount Desert. Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Mount Height Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Buchanan officiating. Fellowship to celebrate Charlie’s life will be afterward at Head of the Harbor Church. In lieu of flowers, a savings account has been set up for Lori to help with the family’s expenses at Bar Harbor Banking & Trust. Condolences may be expressed at www.jordanfernald.com.
