OLD TOWN – Charlene L. Brasslett, 65, died peacefully Oct. 8, 2010, at home. She was born May 29, 1945, in Old Town, daughter of Michael and Florence (Morrisey) Brayson. Charlene moved to Exeter when she was 13 and lived there until the age of 20. She graduated from East Corinth Academy in 1963 and married her high school sweetheart, Duane, in July 1964, and they moved back to Old Town, where he still resides. Charlene will be remembered for her kindness to others and is well known to many because she was one of the cooks at Leonard Middle School for 12 years. She was a parishioner at Holy Family Church, Old Town, and was an active member of Daughters of Isabella for 20 years. Her love of family, friends and animals will always be remembered. Charlene is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Duane; three children and their spouses, Diane and her husband, Ed, of Hudson, Christopher and his wife, Joyce, of Garner, N.C., and Julie and her husband, Jason, of Old Town; five grandchildren, Joshua, Brandon, Mark, Alexis and Colin; and two stepgrandchildren, Christopher Thomas and Heather Hamm. She is also survived by her mother, Florence Brayson; and her siblings and their spouses, Pearl Hawes and her husband, Alvin, Doris Watson and her husband, Dale, Linda Delong and her husband, Darrell, Michael Brayson, Jerry Brayson and his wife, Carol, Robert Brayson, Marie Fields and her husband, Paul, and John Brayson. She will be remembered by many special nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. Daughters of Isabella will conduct a prayer service 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Holy Family Church, Old Town.
