OLD TOWN – June M. Lajoie, 83, passed away Oct. 9, 2010, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born June 1, 1927, the daughter of Noah L. and Flora (Lebel) Geroux. June was an amazing woman with the ability to form strong and unique bonds with everyone. She lived for her children and grandchildren. June was a proud member of Holy Family Church, a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3381 Women’s Auxiliary, Old Town, and a member of Stillwater Health Care Fan Club. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards with her friends, and traveling to her favorite place in the world, Florida. She also looked forward to the annual Mother’s Day trip to Lincolnville Beach Lobster Pound. June was a beloved mother, memere, grandma, sister, aunt and friend, and will be sadly missed by all. June is survived by her six children, Gary Furlotte and his wife, Cindy, Janet Schulte and her fiance, Richard Lafayette, Brenda Lajoie, Harry Lajoie Jr. and his wife, Liz, Rodney Lajoie, and Theresa Hatch and her husband, Dale; 10 grandchildren, James Gehrs and his wife, Angela, Wayne Gehrs and his fiancee, Angie, Lisa Gurly and her husband, Michael, Justin Hatch and his wife, Jessica, Steven Schulte, Nicki Hatch, Sara Lajoie, Noelle Lajoie, Darren Hatch and Lance Lajoie; and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her three brothers, Alfred, Frank and Richard Geroux; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, June was predeceased by her loving husband, Harry Lajoie Sr.; two brothers, Evan and Ernest Geroux; two sisters, Florence Furlotte and Josephine Miller; and her granddaughter, Christy Gehrs. The family expresses their heartfelt thanks to Danielle Waroway, who in many ways has become a part of June’s family, and to Linda Parent, Beryl Campbell, Jamie Kingston, Jayme Pack, Carl Richard, Vickie Stinchfield, Julie Ellis, Barbara Sampson, Hazel Harvey, Joy Dekanich, Kristy Thibodeau and all of the staff at Stillwater Health Care for the loving and compassionate care they gave to “June Bug.” Family and friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Church, 429 Main St., Old Town. Interment will be after at Forest Hill Cemetery.
