FORT FAIRFIELD – Mrs. Luz M. Amador de Duarte, 84, wife of the late Francisco Duarte Astorga, passed away Oct. 12, 2010, at her daughter’s home in Fort Fairfield, after a brief illness. She was born March 15, 1926, in Robles, Durango, Mexico, daughter of Baldomero and Reyes (Esquivel) Amador. She attended Robles, Durango, Mexico, schools and was a member of Alpha and Omega Church. She was a homemaker most of her life. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Moises and Nicholett Duarte of Peoria, Ill., Oscar and Sylvia Duarte of Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, and Cesar and Camilla Duarte of Bethlehem, N.H.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Luz M. and Pablo Alvarado, Leticia and Francisco J. Lopez, all of Monterey, Mexico, Leonor and Antonio Biancaniello of Alamogordo, N.M., and Rosalinda and Carroll Parady Sr. of Fort Fairfield; one sister, Ofelia Dahlen of Kittery Point; two brothers, Joel Amador of San Diego and Baldemar Amador of Robles, Durango, Mexico; 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Francisco Duarte Astorga, in 1993; two grandchildren, Samuel J. and Bryan A. Duarte; and one brother, Aurelio Amador. A funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, at United Pentecostal Church, 36 Currier Road, Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. Ronald Doughty officiating.
