BANGOR – Robert Irvin Royal Jr., 53, died Oct. 13, 2010, at a local hospital as a result of an auto-pedestrian accident. He was born Oct. 27, 1956, in Bangor, son of Robert Irvin Royal Sr. and Rosemary Teresa (Rivers) Gallant. Bob attended Newburgh schools and had been employed for 13 years at the former Perry’s Restaurant, Main Street, Bangor; Galt Block Warehouses; and Dorr’s Equipment, Bangor. He was an avid New England sports fan, especially the Bruins and enjoyed fishing. Surviving are his mother, Rosemary (Rivers) Gallant and stepfather, Tom Gallant Jr., of Bangor; one son, Rob Royal III and his wife, Shellie, and their son, Andrew, of Michigan; one sister, Gayle Bailey and her husband, Keith, of Bangor; a brother, Scott Tripp of Georgia; his stepfather’s children, Cindy, Heather, Terri and Thomas III; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his father, Robert; sister, Vicki Ann; maternal and paternal grandparents. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor, immediately after the service Tuesday. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor.
