BROOKSVILLE – Ernestine Babson Gray, 98, died Oct. 17, 2010, at a Penobscot health care facility. She was born Aug. 21, 1912, in Brooksville, the daughter of Ernest E. and Lillian Babson. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed watching the birds, reading the paper and her canine friends. Her greatest joy was time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Before going into the nursing home, she was cared for by her beloved daughter-in-law, Emma, who predeceased her in January 2010. Ernestine is survived by son, Joseph R. Gray of Cape Rosier; grandchildren, Joseph D. and wife, Andrea, and David, all of Cape Rosier, Paul and wife, Kim, Donald and Carl, all of Deer Isle, and Stephen; and great-grandchildren, Jimmy, Emily, Becca, Kyle and Kalen and Christopher Gray. She was predeceased by her husband of 50-plus years, Donald; son Carlton Gray; and siblings, Roy, Georgiana, Frank, Clariffa, Caroline, Mary and Dorothy. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, at Evergreen Cemetery, Cape Rosier. Contributions in Ernestine’s memory may be made to Penobscot Nursing Home activity fund, P.O.
