PRESQUE ISLE and CARIBOU – James Dunn, 83, died Oct. 14, 2010, in Caribou. He was born Dec. 20, 1926, in Winterville, son of the late Theodore and Gertrude (Tardie) Dunn. Mr. Dunn served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the American Legion, Presque Isle. He was employed as a car salesman for many years, and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He married Renee Casavecchia, who predeceased him in 1996. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Charles Schaefer of Baton Rouge, La.; a stepdaughter, Louise French of Gonzales, La.; two brothers, Patrick and Lucille Dunn of Sevierville, Tenn., and Gordon and Paula Dunn of Hampden; two sisters, Pearl Paridos of Rome, Maine, and Bernice Schaaf of Plantsville, Conn.; three granddaughters, Melissa Miley, Christina Carpenter and families, and Vicki Schaefer and son; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Dunn was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth and John; a sister, Gerri Studer; and a great-grandson, Nathan Avants. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Mary’s Church, Presque Isle, with Father Aaron Damboise officiating. After the service all are invited to the Knights of Columbus Hall for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments with the family. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mr. Dunn may do so to the Alzheimer’s Association. Interment will be at Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery.
